Lecuretta: A Fresh Brush Font for Modern Branding Projects

There’s something about opening a new brand board that feels like unwrapping a gift. The brief was simple: create a warm, approachable visual identity for a small local café. I had a rough color palette, some texture swatches, and a few logo concepts sketched out. But typography? That was still wide open. I needed a font that could feel both personal and professional, something that could work across a menu, a social media post, and a business card without losing its charm. That’s when I opened my font browser and typed in “Lecuretta.”

First Impressions: Brush Strokes with Purpose

At first glance, Lecuretta feels like a breath of fresh air. It’s a brush handwritten font, but it doesn’t scream “handmade” in a forced way. The strokes are dynamic but controlled, with a natural rhythm that gives it a sense of motion. It has a personality—playful, confident, and just a little bit bold. I immediately tried it on the café logo mockup. The client wanted something that felt inviting but not overly cutesy. Lecuretta landed right in the sweet spot.

What stood out was how the font balanced authenticity with usability. It didn’t look like a generic script font. There was a slight bounce in the baseline, and the letterforms had enough variation to feel organic without being distracting. I could see it working on a chalkboard menu, a coffee bag label, or even a website hero section.

Testing Across Brand Touchpoints

Once I settled on a primary logo using Lecuretta, I started testing it across other brand assets. I dropped it into a packaging mockup for custom coffee bags. The result was clean and stylish—just the kind of aesthetic a small, locally roasted brand would want. I also tried it on a menu layout. The font handled short-form text well, especially when used for headings or section titles like “Espresso” or “Pastries.”

One thing I noticed was that Lecuretta works best as a display or headline font. It’s not ideal for long paragraphs or body text due to its brush style and varying stroke weights. But as a logo typeface or accent font? It shines. I found myself using it for social media headers, product labels, and even a poster design for a weekend latte special.

Pairing It with Supporting Fonts

Every good brand identity needs a supporting typeface, and Lecuretta is no exception. I paired it with a clean sans serif for body copy and captions. The contrast between the organic brush style and the structured sans serif created a nice visual hierarchy. It also helped maintain professionalism across printed marketing materials like flyers and business cards.

For a more editorial feel—say, in a brochure or a blog header—I tried combining Lecuretta with a soft serif font. The result was elegant and modern, perfect for a creative studio or a boutique skincare brand. The key was balance: letting Lecuretta take center stage while using its companions to ground the design.

Real-World Observations

As the project moved into the mockup phase, I got to see Lecuretta in action. I tested it on a digital signage concept and was surprised by how well it held up at a distance. The brush strokes didn’t blur or lose definition, even on a backlit screen. On a printed business card, the font had a tactile quality—like it had been written by hand.

One of the more unexpected places it worked well was on a homepage hero section. Paired with a minimalist layout and a warm color palette, Lecuretta gave the site a human, approachable feel. It also translated well to Instagram posts and Stories, where readability and style are both important for audience engagement.

Practical Tips for Using Lecuretta

When Lecuretta Fits the Brief

Lecuretta isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution, but it’s a strong contender when you need a modern, trendy brush font with personality. It’s ideal for:

  1. Logo design for small businesses, creative studios, or lifestyle brands
  2. Packaging design, especially for artisanal or handmade products
  3. Social media graphics that need a personal, approachable feel
  4. Editorial headers and website titles that benefit from a handwritten touch
  5. Printed marketing materials like flyers, posters, and invitations

It’s also a good fit when you want to avoid the overused script fonts that feel generic or outdated. Lecuretta brings a sense of authenticity without sacrificing design polish.

Final Thoughts: A Designer’s New Go-To

By the time the café project wrapped up, I realized I’d used Lecuretta in more places than I’d originally planned. It became a quiet but consistent thread through the brand identity. It worked well across mediums, scaled nicely, and brought a level of warmth that a more rigid typeface wouldn’t have.

As a designer, I’m always looking for tools that feel both fresh and functional. Lecuretta checks those boxes. Whether you’re building a brand from scratch or refreshing an existing one, it’s a font worth testing. Just remember to pair it thoughtfully, use it where it shines brightest, and always test it in context before locking in the final design.
